Thanksgiving (a bit late)

This (long) weekend I:
- Spent time with family east of the mountains
- Ate (lots. Seriously, too much.)
- Played Scattergories with my parents, my all time favorite game
- Watched way to much football
- Went to see Harry Potter with my love
- Cuddled with my baby girl, that is when she wasn’t standing at the front door wanting to play outside
- Went shopping at Target on Black Friday, that’s about all my brain could handle for the day
- Fell in love with an antique dresser that I am still trying to decide if I “need” it
- Bought a toy nativity set for my daughter to play with, she adores baby Jesus!
- Started knitting our christmas stockings, they are going to be so cute, if only I can keep it all straight (did I just knit or pearl?!)
- Listened to Christmas music
- Started Christmas gift lists
-Dreaming of all the things I want to do this holiday season to make it special and meaningful
…and felt very blessed and thankful!

eeeow

Last night we had friends over and had a wonderful fall meal of chili and apple cider. Afterward we dressed up the children, five one-year-olds and two three-year-olds up in their costumes and hit the hood.

(kitty cat, little bo peep + batman)

We wagoned the little ones around to a few houses before my sweet little kitty cat had enough of that and wanted out of her wagon so she could do it all by herself. She would walk through the yard, refusing to use the sidewalks, and up to the front door where she would knock and then “eeeow” just in case they didn’t realize shes a kitty cat. Then she would proceed to walk to the next house and fall multiple times along the way, spilling her candy everywhere, just so happy to be a big girl. She loved seeing all the kids, loved handing out candy and loved being apart of her first Halloween as a big girl.

goodbye old friend

Our dear subie got hit last week. We just got word that the car is totaled and they are coming today to take her away.  I’m trying not to be sad about it but I am a bit overly sentimental about these kinds of things. So, I asked my husband what his favorite memory of our car was and he says: “hitting a raccoon…BOOM” thanks honey. As for me it would have to be the 13 hour journey I took many years ago while living in Montana over three snowy passes to visit my “friend” in Bellingham. I had such a big crush on him and waited for him to confess his love, he didn’t that trip but much later. Now we are on the hunt for another subie to love.

this girl

While in San Diego we went to Sea World and watched the amazing dolphins and killer whales. This was the look on my sweet daughters face the whole day!

san diego

We just got back from a family vacation in San Diego. It was perfect, just what we needed. Time to rest and explore and visit with friends. Our family loves animals and we always make it a priority to stop at any zoo where we happen to be visiting, so of course the San Diego Zoo was on the top of our to-do list.

I was glad this guy was behind the glass, he was big!

There is something about koala bears that makes my heart melt, look them all tuckered out from a day of eating and doing nothing. That’s my kind of animal!

Polar Bears playing under water.

Look at that face!

Wanted to take these two home with me, who doesn’t love a panda baby bear and his mommy!

My little llama farmer, yes they had llamas at the zoo and no they were not her favorite animal. I think the painted picture of a kitty cat at the playground was of course.

just a minute

I struggle with writing on my blog. I have plenty to say but I labor over my thoughts and words so much so that I loose the joy of writing and it ends up taking up way to much time. While reading a friend’s blog she mentioned how she was going to become a five minute blogger. I loved the idea! Instead of avoiding my blog because of how much time and energy it takes up I am going to give myself just a few minutes each day to get something down. So today it begins and just like that my five minutes are up!

friday

She LOVES her daddy!

haircut

My baby got her first real haircut yesterday. Here is a before picture:

As you can see this kid has got hair! Its in her face all the time. Ive tried every clip or band known to man and she will not leave it alone. Then she takes her little hands and tries to put her hair behind her ear, which she isn’t successful at, its so cute to watch her try. I took her to a friend from church who cuts hair and she did such a great job! The minute I walked in the door Lily was waving and saying “hi” to all the ladies in the salon. We sat her down in the chair and she looked so proud sitting all by herself. With every chunk of hair cut Lily oooohed and awwwed, it was so funny. You could tell she just loved being with all those woman. Once the cut was finished she got glitter in her hair and a sucker. She loved every second of it!

Here is her after shot:

She left the clip in her hair for about five seconds after we walked out the door but her little bangs make her look so cute!
